History in Locks
Brass D-Ring and Padlock

If only locks could talk. Having a keen interest in history, I couldnt resist buying the item pictured above whilst visiting Bygone Times the antiques and collectables warehouse near Chorley. Its actually a brass D-Ring kit bag lock with padlock. This one pre dates world war 2 simply because during world war 2 brass was used for making bullets and shells and so these would not have been made out of brass at that time. Unfortunately the padlock is probably from the late 1950s. The D-Ring was placed through the eye holes at the top of a kit bag to prevent petty pilfering during transit. If your looking for antiques or collectables then Bygone Times could be for you however if you need a locksmith in Rainford then call Pam or Derek on 07967 778940 for a no obligation quote.
